Percentage formulas

Basic percentage formula

Percentage = (Part ÷ Whole) × 100. For example, if 30 out of 200 students passed, the pass percentage = (30 ÷ 200) × 100 = 15%.

Percentage change formula

Percentage change = ((New Value − Old Value) ÷ Old Value) × 100. A positive result is an increase; a negative result is a decrease.
